This educational step back in time is fun for all ages. There are events through the summer, Pumpkin Fest, and even two special Candlelight events in December. The Village boasts log cabins with pioneer workshops, and you can take a horse drawn carriage ride around the property. You can even rent several of the buildings for special events. You can see over 14 different skills demonstrated around the property such as coopering, and candlemaking. All of the inhabitants of the village wear authentic Pioneer garb. You are encouraged to grab a drink and food at their Tavern, or go watch a pioneer basket weave. Old Bedford Village also hosts several murder mystery evenings, and reenactments during the year. There's even an Old Bedford Village app! The app allows visitors to go through each structure with professional recordings to better understand the time period, and ways of life. The app alows visitors to see the village at their own pace while enjoying the structures.
Old Bedford Village celebrates Pumpkin Fest in October every year. There are several activites offered during Pumpkin Fest including: scarecrow making, games, and pumpkin carving. There is a special Candelight Christmas event the first two Saturdays in December as well. (More on that in a future post.)
